Resolved that it be recommmended to the Council to present one of the Royal Medals to Mr Ivory for his paper on the Theory of Astronomical Refraction published in the Philosophical Transactions 1838 part 2

Resolved that this Committee are not disposed to recommend any particular discovery or series of researches for the award of the Copley Medal for the present Year,  regarding the remarkable investigations of the Parallax of 61 Cygni by Bessel as requiring the Confirmation of a larger Series of observations, and the Arrival of Similar Conclusions by the use of other Instruments, in the hands of other observers.
