Notes the proposed candidates for the medal -- Sir J F W Herschel 'On Double stars', Pontecoulant 'on the great inequality of Jupiter and Saturn,' Lubbock 'on the theory of the moon, planetary perturbations and [determination?] of the orbit of planets', Rosenberger 'on the orbit of Halley's comet', three others -- the Committee's resolution to forward the list and ask for each members opinion -- a discussion on subjects 'from which a Prize question for the next Medal might be taken' including determination of lunar inequalities, maps of the moon, and derivative oscillations in relation to the tide -- a request that each member put forth his opinion, 'more especially on the propriety of proposing any question at all'.
