Considered a list of applicants for a Moseley Research Studentship ( A E Alexander;  J Bor;  G K T Conn;  L G Cook;  V E Gosslett;  T H Goodwin;  W E van Heningen;  G N Jenkins;  F L G Knight;  A G Lowndes;  J C Maby;  C W Marshall;  C J O R Morris;  P W Perryman;  E Segre;  A F Wells;  D E White;  H Wilman) . Preliminary candidates selected were A E Alexander;  V E Cosslett;  W E van Heyningen;  C J O R Morris;  A F Wells;  and H Wilman

4.   After discussion it was resolved that ' it be a recommendation to Council that Dr H Wilman be appointed to a Moseley Research Studentship at a stipend of £350 a year for two years in the first instance, as from 1 October 1938 renewable from year to year up to a maximum of five years, to carry out a research on the application of the method of diffraction of high speed electrons to the study of wear and lubrication, electrodeposits, heterogeneous catalysis, adsorption and crystal chemistry; and to continue with the development of the interpretative technique. '

5.   Resolved that future candidates for Moseley Research Studentships be asked to supply a list of their published papers, together with refeences to the journals in which they have appeared.</dc:description>
