Minutes of meeting Present at the Council; Lord Brouncker; Mr Balle; Mr Evelyn; Dr Wilkins; Dr Goddard; Mr Palmer; Mr Hill; Mr Oldenburg Mr Palmer reported from the lawyers, that only one Vice-President of the Society could be sworn at a time The examination of the Treasurer's accounts was continued and found to agree with what the Treasurer acknowledged to have been received by him, and the sums yet owing to hom by the Fellows. Lord Brouncker was asked to give Mr Povey thanks on behalf of the Council, for his care and endeavours to procure the Savoy for the use of the Society; however, to also intimate to him that 'by reason both of the want of sufficient accommodation there, and some inconveniences found in the terms of the Indenture, the Council thought it better to withdraw from that business'. 31 August 1663
