Among matters discussed or noted: the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A committee was formed to decide on the length of the pendulum apparatus being made by Mr. Repsold for the Royal Society. Mr. Children produced a report on Barlow's fluid-refracting telescope, deferred until reports were received from Sir John Herschel and Professor Airy. Letter from Mr. Bate requesting a copy of the report of the Hygrometer Committtee, granted. Report of the Royal Medal Committee (Astronomy) recommending Sir John Herschel for a Royal Medal; and declining to propose a prize question. Names of Fellows having not paid their subscriptions to be suspended in the Meeting Room.</dc:description>
