<dc:title>Letter from Dr Demuth to Professor Simon</dc:title>
<dc:description>Written from 27, Fursecroft, George Street, London W1
' I have been dealing with the question of reconstruction of university life in Germany for the last few weeks. So far I had been only asked about other faculties, not about science. Now arises the question of physicists and I have been told by our friends dealing with the matter that the teaching in Physics might be very important as giving a considerable part of the fundamental "Weltanschauung" of the students. I believe that this opinion ist right. Therefore arises a necessity to compile a list of German physicists who can be regarded as reliable in this direction. It is not necessary to give too many names but I should be grateful if you were so kind as to deal with the matter. This list should contain the names and the reasons - if possible - why these people are regarded as especially suitable, proofs of anti-Nazi opinion as for instance refusing of special appointments as Rector or Dean, publications and so on. - I have written to Professor Born in the same sense.
I hope you are alright and I thank you in anticipation for your collaboration. '</dc:description>
