J C Eccles, Department of Physiology, Australian National University, Canberra to Brown Brown will have just received a letter asking him to be Rose Eccles' examiner for her thesis - title is "Physiological and pharmacological investigations on synaptic transmissions in sympathetic ganglia" - parts have already been published in Journal of Physiology, 1952 - thesis should be finished in a month or two - reports on work in Canberra, mostly writing papers - hopes Brown is well and that his ulcer is under control - he and Rene are planning a trip to Europe next July. 5 October 1954
