Informs Mellanby that his department is short of a demonstrator - knows of three suitable men in the Forces, and asks if it would be possible for the Medical Research Council to apply for one of them to be released. Has in mind a research programme on the action of adrenaline on the circulation. Stresses the importance of this research and the need to 'not let America get too far ahead in this field'. 14 October 1945
