<dc:title>Letter from [George William] Lyttleton, Hayley, Stourbridge, to 'Dear Sir' [Sir John Frederick William Herschel]</dc:title>
<dc:description>He is obliged for the English version [of 'Der Spaziergang'?] which is striking and spirited, and he thinks the Latin is done as well as it could be. He notes how he would have approached it. He has an aversion to English poetry in classical metre. He cites Goldsmith's attempts, and his fourtenth essay on versification, which failed and has been forgotten. He hopes that Herschel will forgive him for offering criticisms, and lists words and phrases which might be altered. </dc:description>
