<dc:title>Draft letter from J F W [John Frederick William] Herschel, Collingwood, to [George Smith]</dc:title>
<dc:description>Whatever arrangement would be satisfactory to Smith would be the same to Herschel. He would have been glad if Book 2 [of 'The Iliad'] could have appeared in the 'Cornhill Magazine' earlier than three months hence, but if not it would be no great matter. He would not mind if it was divided between issues. He would like to have revisions in triplicate so he can send one to a friend, as there are some phrases he has doubts about. Numbers of the 'Revue des deux Mondes' for September and October have not reached him. </dc:description>
