<dc:title>Letter from Hasts. [Hastings] Macsween, Dehli, to 'My dear Herschell' [John Herschel]</dc:title>
<dc:description>He asks how John is getting on and if his leg has recovered. He enquires whether Herschel knows of anyone to buy a buggy from him at 100 rupees, of if not to send it to Dehli, with a box of books. If there are costs he will reimburse Herschel. He has written a letter to Bagge but has had no reply. He relates how he was reported to the Brigadier by the Colonel commanding the 88th, quoting from a letter he had sent. He asks if he is likely to get away from the sappers, as he wishes to keep a railway appointment. He comments on his living arrangements in the Brigade Major's house and he messes with the Artillery. </dc:description>
