Letter from William James Herschel, London, to 'Dearest Father' [Sir John Frederick William Herschel] Mr White is not eager to accept the executorship of Cousin's B's property. He had a hard fight about the parish accounts. It seems certain that Frederick and Charlotte White will leave the place. He gives news on the health of cousins and they all send messages of affection to Sir John, with anecdotes of 'the old old days before my time'. 11 April 1864
