<dc:title>Letter from A [Alexander] Stewart, Kirkmichael, to Mrs [Emilia] Stewart, Mance of Dingwall</dc:title>
<dc:description>Emilia will rejoice at seeing how far he is in his proposed journey. He describes his travels, arriving first at Freeburn, the next day at Pitmain, and up the north side of the Spey to Cluny. The Chief was gone, but he spoke with the Lady, and saw the new house being built. Then to Dalwinnie, Dalnacardoch and Strathgroy. He stopped at Forncastle, which was much the same, seeing Betsy [Stewart] and Mr. Peter, who will call at Urquhart. Betsy will accompany Alexander to Urquhart Manse. He arrived at Moulin, at Sanders Duff's where he was crowded upon, and made various calls. William Wallace accompanied him to Glenbriarachan. He delined to preach at Moulin, being expected at Kirkmichael, but offered a later date with the intention to induce the Minister to allow Alexander to baptise Wallace's children. Mr. Duff has decided to baptise, so Alexander has no further interest in preaching for him. He preached at Kirkmichael 'to several hundreds of the Moulin folk' as well as local parishioners. He made more visits with John Shaw, described as an active young man and preacher. After buying articles at Perth, he hopes to bring £60 home, and he will be able to discharge the Cromarty account. </dc:description>
