<dc:title>Extract of a letter from [Alexander Stewart], Moulin, to Revd John Scott, Greenock</dc:title>
<dc:description>He explains his purpose in writing, which is to find a Greenock man named Fletcher, perhaps a schoolmaster, who has for some time been compiling a dictionary of Gaelic. Alexander's information came from a man in Argyllshire. Fletcher's work is of interest to Highlanders, and to Alexander and his friends, who wish to encourage a compilation. He asks about printing, subscriptions and other intentions of Fletcher's. He asks Scott to pass his letter to Fletcher, with a request that he writes back. </dc:description>
