  <dc:description>Obverse, a profile of Frederick, Duke of York, facing left as viewed with the inscription: 'FREDERICUS DUX EBORAC'. Reverse; 'MULTIS ILLE BONIS FLEBILIS OCCDIT NON IANUAR 1827'.

Contained in a circular turned ivory case lined with blue paper. Printed label on the inner case top: 'DE VEAUX, Gem and Seal ENGRAVER to Her Majesty AND TO H.R.H. The Duke of Sussex 204, OXFORD STREET, LONDON'. The case of the case has a paper label, inscribed in ink with a translation from Horace on the reverse of the medal: 'H.R.H. Frederic Duke of York. Died 5th Jan. 1827. "His death brought tears to the eyes of many good men". Odes of Horace. Nonis Ianuariis 5th Jan: 1827'.
