The following Strangers had leave to be present.

The minutes of the last meeting were read.

The publications of Mr Magellan were presented by him the one entitled Collection de differens Traittes sur des instrumens d'Astronomie et de Physique etc and the other, Description des Instrumens d'Astronomie et de Physique faits a Londres par ordre de la Cour de Portugal en 1778.

Mr Nichols the printer also presented a quarto volume entitled a Collection of all t he Wills now known to be extant, of the Kings, Queens, Princes and PRincesses of Wales and every branch of the Royal Family.

Thanks were returned for these presents.

The Resolution of the Council concerning the alteration in the hour of the Ordinary Meetings was then read, and the question being proposed  from the Chair, the ballot went round.  Upon examining the same it was found to be the sense of the Society that it is elligible that the hour of the ordinary meetings after the next  Vocation be at 8 in the evening. 

Mr Joseph Hodgkinson a Certificate in whose favor had hung the usual time in the meeting room, was put to the ballot agreeably to the Statute for the election of MEmbers.  On  examining the said ballot it was found that he was not elected. 

Joseph Baron Podmanitzki formerly recommended a Candidate, was likewise put to the ballot, and was elected a fellow of this Society.

Part of the Baker Lecture for the present year by Mr  Cavalho was read, and the remainder was deferred to a future  meeting. '
