Minutes of a Meeting Present at the meeting: the President in the chair The following had leave to be present; The Reverend Mr Richardson by Mr Baker Mr Frankcombe, Mr Hadley, Mr Empson and Mr More by Dr Birch Mr Wilson and Mr Bradshaw by Dr Lloyd Mr Bates by Dr Brakenridge Baron de Prawn by Dr Morton ' Dr Du Carrel, lately elected into the Society, having paid his admission fee, and signed the usual bond for payment of contributions; and having also signed his name in the charter book, was admitted a Fellow. As was likewise Mr Charles White of Manchester, a Gentleman formerly proposed according to the statute, and this day elected a Fellow; who paid his admission fee, and the further sum of twenty guineas, in lieu of contributions. ' Gift received; A book entitled "Relation of a Voyage from Boston to Newfoundland, for the observation of the transit of Venus, June 6th 1761" by John Winthrop Esq Hollisian Professor of Mathematics and Philosophy at Cambridge N England for which thanks were returned and the book referred to Mr Short, to give some account of it.
