The Minutes of the last meeting were read.

A Book with htis inscription in the title page vidilicet, "Systema, '

 ' Mr Smeaton FRS communicated a Note relative to Mr Erskine's Machine lately Exhibited to the Society; viz that the principle of the Centrifugal force was not now first applied to the raising of water.  In Confirmation of which the Berllin Acts for the year 1753 were produced, in which p.305 is an Account of a Machine, with improvements and Calculations drawn from a hint in the book called 'Account of Machines approved by the Royal Academy of Sciences at Paris for the year 1732; and the invention referred to a Mr du Moses.
