<dc:title>Correspondence with John Nye concering measuring ice sheet movement using the radio echo method</dc:title>
<dc:description>Primarily contains correspondence between Nye and David Threlfall, regarding a paper jointly authored by them and Robet Kyte ['Proposal for measuring the movement of a large ice sheet by observing radio echoes' published in the Journal of Glaciology in 1972]. Also contains correspondence between Nye and Michael Walford, a researcher based at Adelaide Island. Walford was carrying out aerial radio echo sounding experiments in Antarctica to field test the method outlined in the paper. A copy of a paper by Walford on the subject is included. Some later correspondence with Christopher Doake at the Scott Polar Research Institute, also discussing radio echo sounding in the Antarctic, is also present. Various manuscript notes by Nye are included in the folder.</dc:description>
