Correspondence between Mr John Lambert and Sir John Vane Mr John Lambert was a chemistry teacher at the King Edward VI High School in Birmingham, who also co-authored text books. Mr Lambert is cited as a great influence on Sir John Vane in the Royal Society's 'Biographical Memoir' (Biog. Mems Fell. R. Soc. 52, 401-411, 2006). The correspondence in this file concerns Sir John Vane's dinner speech at an Old Edwardians' dinner in London, an account of which has been read by Mr Lambert; Mr Lambert has written to Sir John Vane, asking him if he remembers him correctly as 'a very tall slim boy with quite a mop of brown hair and also as a very capable corporal in the OTC'. The file includes a copy of Sir John Vane's response, and a further letter from Mr Lambert. 9 May - 22 June 1988
