  <dc:description>Written at Cambridge
' A Letter from Mrs Gerisk to Governor Belchier (and by him sent to Mr Newman) giving an account and draght of Parhelia observed by her in New England 1734. '

' I hope you will excuse my sending you onother draught of the Parhelia; the other that I sent to your Excellency being imperfect. I then depended on my memory, and was prompted to send it, lest another person should forestall me in duty. I flatter my self that this is as exact a draught as can be taken having one before me drawn by a person skilled in Astronomy. And if this came from a masculine hand, I believe it would be an acceptable present to the Royal Societr.
I am your Excellency's
Most dutifull and affectionate Kinswaoman
Martha Gerisk. '
