Table of observations on sea and land in various climates, by James Horsburgh Tables of meteorological observations, with an introduction, kept by James Horsburgh as commander of the ship 'Anna', owned by Bruce, Fawcett and Company of Bombay [Mumbai]. The records were kept during the course of a voyage from England to India, and subsequently on board, and at landfalls, on the coasts of India, China and Indonesia. A version of this material was published as: 'Abstract of observations on a diurnal variation of the barometer between the Tropics', by James Horsburgh Esq., in a letter to Henry Cavendish Esq., F.R.S.', Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, v.95 (1805) pp.177-185. In a postscript to the paper, Horsburgh stated: 'Since I wrote the foregoing abstract, I have received a letter from my friend Mr. Dalrymple, intimating that a copy of the meteorological journal itself would be acceptable, which has induced me to transmit to him the original sheets, with a request to deliver them to you. I regret I could not find leisure time to make out a fair copy, to have sent to you, in place of the original sheets in their rough state'. Stamped [p.1] 'Soc. Reg. Lond.' and inscribed in ink 'Presented by Alexr. Dalrymple Esqr. F.R.S. May 16 1805'. An inscription on the front inner board: 'New Catalogue no.55'. 1802-1804
