  <dc:description>Daily tidal observations, containing two sets of data [for highs and lows] per day. With columns for: date; Moon's age; times of high and low water, rise of tide and interval; the Moon passing meridian, apparent diameter and 1/2 diameter, and sets of declinations at high water; with conditions of surf, weather, wind and general remarks.   

There is a drawing and description of the tide gauge employed [p.1]. With a note in red ink: 'With Pro. F. 54. 1828. From Mr. Fallows' letter to Mr. Barrow Jany. 1o/27'. Stamp of the Hydrographical Office.

The verso sheets are numbered 1-8 and variously endorsed and inscribed, including: in pencil [p.2] 'This is the original from St. Helena; - I have a copy. F.F.'; and in ink [p.4] 'Observations on the Tides November 1826. Presented to the Royal Society by the Rev. Fearon Fallows through the hands of Dr. Young. Lieut. Johnson.
