<dc:title>Magnetic and meteorological observations at the Trivandrum Magnetic Observatory, India, by John Caldecott</dc:title>
<dc:description>Tables of daily observations made at Trivandrum [Thiruvananthapuram], Kerala, generally at two hourly intervals, commencing with: the declination magnetometer; horizontal force magnetometer and its thermometer; vertical force magnetometer and its thermometer. With readings from: an uncorrected barometer; its attached thermometer; dry and wet thermometers. These are followed by: detailed observations of computed temperature of dew point and tension of vapour [on unused tables for electrometer observations]; maximum and minimum temperature, terrestrial radiation and Moon's age; and corrected barometer. The observations conclude with the proportion of sky clouded, mean direction and force of wind by Lind's gauge; and the daily amount of rainfall. The columns for temperature of dew point, elasticity of vapour and solar radiation [p.12] are left blank, the former with a note: 'Not taken for scarcity of aether'. Columns for daily triple observations of the magnetometers are also blank [p.14], with the note: 'These are included in the 'Antarctic' daily term'.

Headed 'Abstract of daily Observations...'. The tables have occasional explanatory annotations. </dc:description>
