  <dc:description>Monthly meteorological data sheets, January-December 1841, in two parts: form 1 containing uncorrected meteorological observations, form 2 corrected meteorological results. 

Form 1, main table, contains columns of  information on: date and Moon; barometer; temperature and dew point; wet bulb thermometer; temperature minimum and maximium, with solar radiation data; temperature of sea or running water; wind direction and gauge; rainfall; electricity; general weather remmarks; latutude and longitude at noon; with a repeated date and Moon column. A secondary table, below, is for uncorrected and corrected hourly observations of the barometer and thermometer on the 21st day of the month [Winter solstice].

Form 2, main table, contains columns of information on: date and Moon; pressure of atmosphere; elasticity of vapour; and temperature (maximum, minimum and mean). A second set of  tables, below, presents monthly temperature and pressure in graphical form, but these are only complete to August 1841..    

Completed by Lieutenant C.W. Younghusband, Royal Artillery, Toronto, Canada, with his signature on sheets 24--35; there are  no signatures on sheets 36-47.  

Each sheet is inscribed: 'Published by Richard &amp; John E. Taylor, Red Lion Court, Fleet Street, London.'; and  lower right: 'J. Basire sc.'</dc:description>
