  <dc:description>Abstract of daily observations made at the Colaba Observatory, generally at two hourly intervals. Commencing with readings from the declination magnetometer; horizontal force magnetometer and its thermometer; and a vertical force magnetometer and its thermometer. With readings from: an uncorrected barometer; its attached thermometer; and dry and wet thermometers. Columns for electrometer readings, temperature of dew point, elasticity of vapour, temperature, radiation and Moon's age are all blank; as are corrected barometer readings. Abstract of daily triple observations of the vertical force, declination, and horizontal force magnetometers are partially completed, 1-10 January. 

There follows abstracts of term day observations [pp.19-21] commencing at 10.00p.m., on 19 January [Gottingen mean time], and ending at 9.00p.m., on 20 January 1842, includign observations on the state of the weather. There are also abstracts of daily observations for January [p.22] and an untitled graph, summary dip observations [p.24], and vibration and defection experiments [pp.25-26].
