Including diary-style prose descriptions of weather events. The main sets of data record the date and time of observations, temperature, wind, and clouds; with earth and air electricity readings, and occasional general remarks. The location of the observations was Winter Quarters, at McMurdo Sound, Antarctica. The volume commences with [p.2] two pasted-in curves on graph paper: constants of portable electrometers no.81 and no.35. An inserted sheet [pp.2/3] contains methodology copied from 'The Antarctic Manual' p.66 and 68, on paper embossed with a badge for the 'Discovery Antarctic Expedition 1901' illustrated with a penguin and ice floe. Made during National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904 [the Discovery Expedition] led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott. Inscribed [p.1]: 'Observations of Atmospheric Electricity with Thomson Portable Electrometer'. Label to inner front board: 'Evans Hallewell & Co.
