Silk [pp.39-42]; the barque Velore, Captain W. Bell [pp.43-48]; the ship Parland, Captain P. Gillespie [pp.49-51]; the ship Broxbornebury, Captain J. Burnett [pp.53-59]; the ship Juliana, Captain W.G. Woodhouse [pp.61-65]; the barque Queen, S.S. Martyn Commander [pp.67-74]; the barque Waverly, J. Morgan, Commander [pp.75-78]. 

The accounts usually provide columns for 'H K F' [hour, headway in knots, depth in fathoms], with the vessels' courses, wind direction, and general remarks.  

Headed [p.1]: 'Hurricane in the beginning of April 1843. Extracts of the Logs of the Vessels which encountered it and of others which escaped'. Stamped: 'Received C.O. [Colonial Office] Sep. 13 1843'. With an index to the contents. Inscribed: 'Enclosure in Sir William Gomm's despatch No.89 dated 26th May 1843'. The inscription repeated [p.82] with the addendum: 'and in Mr. Stephen's letter from the Colonial Office of 20 Sept 43'.   </dc:description>
