  <dc:description>Haan presents the purpose and work of the Huygens Committee, which is to provide an edition of the Dutch mathematician and physicist, Christiaan Huygens (1629-1695) works and correspondence. He submits a petition to the Royal Society requesting letters in their possession from Huygens so they may be copied 'and worked on', including a list of the number of letters. Enslosed is a printed second report of the Huygens Committee written in dutch comprising of 16 pages which refers to Huygen's correspondence with English scientists, a small number of which is found in the collections of the Society.</dc:description>
