Letter from Walter Holbrook Gaskell, Grantchester, Cambridge, to the Royal Society Gaskell applies for £40 from the Donation Fund of the Royal Society to continue his research 'on the structure, distribution and function of the vasvular and visceral nerves'. They are at the stage in the investigation which requires 'the determination of the alteration of temperature in such an organ as the heart when its anabolic nerve is stimulated'. Gaskeel makes the grant application on behalf of Dr [Arthur Sheridan] Lea, who will 'share' in these investigations. 2 May 1887
