Letter from Francis Galton, Chairman of the Kew Committee, Kew Observatory, Richmond, Surrey, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary of the Royal Society Describes the historical background of the name of the observatory in the Old Deer Park. Galton is unable to agree to any change in the title of the Observatory. They point out that in any case the Observatory is an older institution than the Royal Gardens. 3 July 1894
