Letter from [Friedrich] Leo, Königliche Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen, to [Arthur William] Rücker, [Secretary of The Royal Society] Informs of a change in his and Professor Klein's position on affairs, pertaining to the Cartell of International Academies, as a result of conversations with prominent members of the Paris Academy, indicating that the matter is not without prospect of success. Hopes the society will abide by its intention and take initial steps at Paris, Rome, and St Petersburg. If there is a willingness to cooperate, he suggests arranging a meeting to settle on a plan of international undertaking. A typescript translation of the letter is included. 29 October 1898
