Letter from [David] Prain, Director's Office, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Surrey, to Mr [Robert] Harrison, The Assistant Secretary, The Royal Society States that Dr Rendle writes he cannot find any confirmation of [Henry Brougham] Guppy's death and thinks there may be some confusion, stating it may be due to a mix up of names. Informs that Rendle has written to Guppy to remind him of his engagement for the Linnean Society's meeting and making a suggestion which neccsssitates a reply, hoping this method will confirm the truth. Instructs for Guppy's name to be included on the printed list of candidates. 12 January 1918
