<dc:title>Letter from Oliver Lodge, Normanton House, Lake, Salisbury, to the Secretaries of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>'Gentlemen, I was intending to get signatures to a certificate for Marconi, whom I wish to propose for Election; but Sir J.J.Thomson, who might otherwise have seconded, raised the objection that he was technically a foreigner, and hence that it would be ultra vires. I have also heard other objections raised; but they all seem to be of a kind of which The Royal Society should be judge and not I. Hence I venture to transmit the form in its unfinished state, for your kind scrutiny. Yours faithfully, Oliver Lodge'.

Enclosed is a reply to Sir Oliver Lodge, dated 20 February 1925.</dc:description>
