Letter from [Peter] Chalmers Mitchell, The World List of Scientific Periodicals, to the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, Burlington House 'Dear Sir, We are now at the stage when we compiling a standard list of abbreviations for scientific periodicals. Sir Arthur Schuster has suggested that we ought to make use of the Royal Society abbreviations. I suppose that he refers to those used in the International Catalogue, which I have, and to those in the R.S. Catalogue of Scientific Ppaers.
