Letter from Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Sabine, [Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society], Woolwich, to Sir John Herschel and the Chairman of the Committee for conducting the British Cooperation in Magnetic researches Forwarding letters from Ceylon regarding a proposal to the governor for the establishment of a magnetic observatory at Columbo. Sabine's letter includes an inventory of instruments to be sent to Ceylon for these purposes.
