Letter from J P [James Prescott] Joule, Acton Square, Salford, to Colonel [Edward] Sabine, [Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society] Expressing his discontent at references made to some of his experiments in a letter from M Regnault, published in the 'Proceedings' on 21 April 1853. Joule includes a quote, in French, of Regnault's reference and defends the limitations of his own experiment on the air engine, published in the first part of the 'Philosophical Transactions' 1852, p.74.
