Letter from C [Charles] Trevelyan, Treasury Chambers, to [Lord Wrottesley], President of the Royal Society, and Professor [Richard] Owen Reporting that the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury have postponed consideration on the Society's suggestion to establish a series of magnetical and meteorological observations at Vancouver Island or a nearby station. The commissioners also note the increased expense for the publication of the magnetical observations from Toronto, St Helena, and the Cape of Good Hope. 6 December 1858
