<dc:title>Letter from Charles Babbage, Dorset Street, Manchester Square, to the Secretary of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Criticising a resolution of the Council of the Royal Society from 20 January 1853, relating to Babbage's mention of charges of perjury and forgery against Rev Richard Sheepshanks. The accusation published in the Mechanic Magazine from 24 June 1852 was signed by Sir James South and forwarded by Babbage to Council. Babbage is critical of the Council's handling of these accusations and their lack of action in calling a ballot on Sheepshanks' expulsion.</dc:description>
