<dc:title>'Notes on meeting with foreign scientists' by [Sir Henry Thomas Tizard], Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>An account of two meetings, one with members of the French Scientific Mission and second with a group of Norwegian scientists.

The French Scientific Mission meeting included discussion about scientific cooperation, in particular the lack of enthusiasm amongst the French mission for maintenance of the International Unions, travelling expenses for meetings, the Royal Society's approach to collaboration as a member of the International Unions. The Norwegian scientists meeting covered topics include reviving research and university education in Norway, post war collaboration with England, the Norwegian need for laboratory equipment, a request for a special course for Norwegian graduates at British universities, and a further request for a supply of English scientific literature to enable Norwegian students to develop English as their second language instead of German.</dc:description>
