Letter from R E Field, India Office, Whitehall, SW1, to Sir Henry Dale, the Royal Society, Burlington House, W1 Informs Dale that the Government of India are in favour of the proposals for an establishment of an Indian Central Scientific Office in London but would prefer to wait until after the scientists have visited, and favour it being attached to the High Commissioner rather than to the Secretary of State, and prefer the Royal Society to set up an independent advisory committee. 8 September 1944
