Letter from Henry Dale, President of the Royal Society, to Wallace P Cohoe, President, Society of Chemical Industry Informs him that the gavel has been delivered to the Society's rooms and has arranged for Dr Cullen to attend the meeting of the Royal Society to formally hand it over for use in Council. Points out that some of the earliest Fellows of the Society had 'practically discovered oxygen' more than 100 years before Priestley but the influence of phlogiston theory kept them from recognising it. 6 June 1944
