Letter from the Secretary of the Royal Society to the Treasury On the lack of space in the Society's quarters in Somerset House and the request that the rooms to be vacated by the Hackney Coach Office be granted to the Society. The letter also stresses the disparity between the rooms allotted the Society in comparison to the "magnificent apartments" granted Royal Academies on the continent.
