  <dc:title>Miscellaneous Manuscripts Volume 7</dc:title>
<dc:description>Nos 1 to 6 Letters to Professor TG Bonney, 1882-1905.

Nos 7 to 160 Letters and papers of the Board of Longitude, seemingly accumulated by Sir Joseph Banks, 1714-1796.

Most of the papers deal with correspondence concerning the Mudge family. Thomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude. After much pamphleteering, Parliament found in Mudge's favour, awarding him another £2500.</dc:description>
