Copy of a letter from Joseph Banks, Soho Square, to Thomas Mudge Although assuring Mudge that he never felt implicated in his censure of Dr Maskelyne, Banks makes clear how unjsutifiable Mudge's actions were. Thomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude and blamed Nevil Maskelyne for this. 13 March 1793
