<dc:title>Copy of a letter from Joseph Banks, Soho Square, to William Windham MP</dc:title>
<dc:description>On Banks forwarding to Windham and members of the Parliamentary Committee his views on the Mudge case (probably the pamphlet by Banks, 'Observations on Mr Mudge's Application to Parliament for a Reward for his Time-keepers, which, agreeably to the Act of Parliament of 14th of George III had been unanimously denied him by the Board of Longitude').

Thomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude and blamed Nevil Maskelyne for this.</dc:description>
