<dc:title>Letter from Thomas [Best] Jervis, 22 Notting Hil Square to Humphrey Lloyd, Trinity College, Dublin</dc:title>
<dc:description>Jervis writes regarding the acquisition of instruments (particularly those made by [Thomas] Grubb) for magnetic observations throughout Asia under the auspices of the East India Company. Two differently designed dip circles are also requested, to be made by [Thomas Charles] Robinson.

Jervis has been guided in his choice of instruments by attending meetings of the Physics and Meteorological Committee of the Royal Society and in discussion with Edward Sabine and James Clark Ross. </dc:description>
