Letter from William Hyde Wollaston, 1 Dorset Street, Manchester Square, to William Buckland Wollaston can say nothing about the subject of [Alexandre] Brongniart's enquiry, on painting permanently on glass. He suggests the names of Jarvis, who painted a window at St George's Chapel and a window at New College [Thomas Jervais, d.1799]. The original designs by Sir Joshua [Reynolds] were sold at Christies on the death of his niece. He also recalls Egginton near Soho, who was alive in 1805 [Francis Egginton (1737-1805)] but Wollaston does not know if he left any work of note [pencil annotation: 'Arms - at Pembroke Coll']. He has been told that Collins's works are worth seeing, but Wollaston has not seen them. 28 July 1828
