<dc:title>Letter from George Bentham, 25 Wilton Place to Edward Sabine</dc:title>
<dc:description>Bentham informs Sabine that he wrote to him recently suggesting naturalists who in his opinion have a prior claim to the Royal Society’s gold medals than Mr [Richard] Spruce, however he was not aware that Dr [William Henry] Harvey had never received one. Bentham describes Harvey’s areas of research and the reasons he is entitled to receive a Royal Society gold medal. Bentham is unable to offer suggestions for zoologists as he is less acquainted with their work than botanists.</dc:description>
