<dc:title>Letter from Antoine [Thomson] d'Abbadie, Paris to Edward Sabine</dc:title>
<dc:description>An agent of the Institut [de France] promised Abbadie to send Sabine the official advice of his election signed by the President or Secrétaire Perpétuel. Abbadie advises Sabine that it is customary for members to write a short letter of thanks addressed to the Institut or Monsieur le Président de l’Academie des Sciences. Abbadie suggests that Sabine could write in English, however he is certain Mrs [Elizabeth Juliana Leeves] Sabine can write a letter in French as her German is excellent.</dc:description>
